My version of Patrick McKenzie’s standing invitation.
I have benefited enormously from people being willing to speak with me when I have asked. I cold emailed people who I thought were doing interesting work when I was in high school, with replies ranging from “I’m busy” to “Would you like to do manual labor for this project?”, cold emailed someone to get into a conference despite their saying it was full multiple times, and have frequently skipped parts of the learning curve that would otherwise take weeks simply by asking experts to speak with me for 15-30 minutes.
So, it seems fitting that I should offer to reciprocate. I don’t know that I have as deep & clear a domain of interest as Patrick, but regardless; this is a standing invitation: if you want to talk about anything that is of interest (e.g. based on what you see on this site), I want to talk to you.
Emailing arunim at this domain is preferred, unless you already have a better way of contacting me. I recommend reading Patrick’s post for other tips etc.
