Incremental reading is a spaced repetition version of reading where you add a large set of texts you wish to read and understand to a queue, and then iterate through reading, reprioritizing, and adding the important sections of what you just read back into the queue. If you’re not familiar, Supermemo is “the” incremental reading app, and Readwise is a user-friendly, less rigorous alternative.

I want to both get better at incremental reading and make incremental writing a thing! Incremental writing aims to encourage you to review and revise your own writing on a similarly smart schedule. I am notably an opponent of the essay format (for myself at least), and I think this will be a useful weapon in the fight.

I’m making an incremental writing¹ tool. Details soon, once I’m relatively happy with the UX and have successfully used it for a week or so. You’ll know it when the update volume on the garden increases substantially.
